I contacted another tech support by email. He says that there is a possibility that the bios is showing it wrong. I also have an issue where windows 10 shows me 4 minutes left to fulll charge. He also suggested me to power off the laptop, remove all cables and hold the power button, can anyone pls explain me what this does and more precisely how to do it without opening up my system. Also what advantages doe the latest bios A06 have over my factory Bios A01.

1st: what model do you have?
    2nd: i think is a windows problem
3rd: if you have an AW15 R1 or AW17 R2 ( if you have the 180W power adapter use A00) or (if you have the 240W power adapter use A06)
    A00 better fan tables
A06 better stability + hybrid bios ( bad if you have 970m or 980m with 180WPS)

Ok. My model is Alienware 15 R1 with intel core i5 4210h and 965m. They said i dont need a 240w power supply. Also my battery is now at 67020wh in windows battery report. Original is 96000wh. The tech said that this issue was normal. I have checked the windows forum abt the charging issue. Some say a bios update fixes it. Can you post more specific changes. Want to know what i am risking brivking my laptop for. What should i do in case of a faulty bios update. The tech said i should hold down the power button and do the update again.

i think your battery is weared... look in your BIOS pressing F2 at boot and check if rapid charge option is enabled. that option let your battery charge fast, but wear it faster. update to A06 without problems

The chargibg thing in windowsyou shouldnt pay attention to. It just cant read the charging cycle correctly. But your battery health sucks. Looks like you used the battery a lot?

I clean installed windows 10 at leats 3 times already. It still happens. Battery life is like 4 hours on idle in high performance mode and 3 hours on gaming rainbow six siege on all max except for msaa which is set to off.

The strange thing is, in powercfg it shows current battery capacity as 65020wh but in the history of battery capacity it shows today capacity as 67838. Also i want to know what to do in case of failed bios update because i want to know that there is a plan b.

It doesnt need to be reinstalled. WIndows just cannot read the data correctly. But HWinfo for example can. But if in HWInfo a lower capacity is shown. That means you battery is already fairly worn out.

DO you game often on battery because that might be the reason.
