Hello, I have an AW 13 configured to i7-5500U with a GTX 860m. I upgraded the system from Windows 8.1 to Windows 8.1 Pro. Non of my drivers seem to install for 8.1 pro when I download from the Dell website. Any hints?

We are currently selling the machines only with Windows 8.1, not the Pro version. Therefore, you may encounter issues with the drivers. You can try looking in the manufacturer's site (Intel, Broadcom, etc) to get them instead of DELL.com.

How is that possible as I have Windows 8.1 Pro with my Alienware 15 and the drivers for 8.1 should work on either version as well.

Pro or Core is the same, it's the same OS but Pro has a few more features like the ability to connect to a domain, Group Policy Editor, etc. I can install the 8.1 drivers just fine on 8.1 Pro.

I normally let things go, but...just...wtf?
Have you looked at Alienware's website? aw13.jpg
I'm pretty sure you guys do sell "the machines" with 8.1 Pro, or at least you charged me the $50 extra dollars too, hopefully not for nothing.

    Sigh...

But yeah I tried again yesterday. Some of the most important drivers (Qualcomm Wireless and Networking) don't work with 8.1 Pro. Maybe I should have downloaded the networking drivers from the AW 15. Anyways it works fine now. I downgraded to win7 Pro and all the driver installations work as intended.

I tried calling phone support. There was this lady that said something about software not being covered in my warranty and because I choose to upgrade to 8.1 Pro. I am not liable for the damage and I have to pay apparently to get it diagnose o_O

If you didn't get the Win 8.1 Pro license from Dell, then your SOL on software support, and since you downgraded to Win7, well... tough. They may be able to help you, but it'll be limited support.
As for the wifi drivers, they're all the same for the three Alienware laptops. What other drivers didn't install anyways?
Funny enough, the Qualcomm package is not listed on Dell's support page anymore. It might be for the time being, but it was giving some owners a headache. I'm guessing you visited Qualcomm's website to download the package and it still didn't work?

I tried qualcomm website apparently don't have drivers for Windows 8 for 1525. The driver for 1525 from the website only supports 7. But it's all good I just wanted the professional edition of windows 7 or 8 to work so I can upgrade to Windows 10 professional on release. I'm crossing my fingers that dell will release drivers for Windows 10 when it comes out.
