I have been in communication with Martin from HWiNFO and he was kind enough to add full fan control features for the 13r3. We now have not just 3 rpm settings to choose from but full control of the fans rpms thanks to Martin and the HWiNFO team.

Link to new HWiNFO Beta for 13r3: http://www.hwinfo.com/beta/hw64_545_3078.zip

I will be making a donation to HWiNFO today thru there website, I think it would be very kind for other 13r3 users on the forum to do the same as they moved extremely quickly to help get the fans with full control after it was brought to there attention.

EC Support is checked and if I click the "X" on the sensors page the program crashes every time.

You have to uncheck the EC Support and it will work.

That is trange. Im on a 7700hq processor if that makes a difference. Did uou fully uninstall the previous version prior to installing the beta version? The program ran perfect on my end without having to adjust any setting on hwinfo or selecting or deselecting anything.

When you uncheck ec support are you still getting full rpm control or just the 3 fan speeds? I have ec support checked and i have full fan control available.

Why didn't he release it for all new models, I would say bios-EC binaries should be more or less the same.

Yes this one should be for the 13r3, Martin mentioned he was going to release it today. Mahmoud the 15r3 model already had full fan control but the 13r3 didnt until now.

In the begging when it opens up are you choosing to monitor or not monitor the COMPAL EC: Alienware 13 R3 sensors? Do you select continue or do not monitor this sensor?

Martin from hwinfo says it should be enabled,
disabling it enables 0, 2400 and 5700rpm, but with it enabled we should have full manual control

I am currently talking to Martin on hwinfo and apparently our 13r3's are different in compal ID so he has made an updated BETA for me to test
which so far gives me manual control of my fans in 100rpm increments but the CPU slider controls both fans and the GPU slider does nothing lol

Make sure that your GPU fan is working though ... As the problem with previous models was that manual control allows you to control only CPU fan and GPU fan would stop working completely and the options for controlling it are grayed out. Someone just burned an R9 M290X in a 17R1 because of this.

    Take very good care.

Was anybody able to get full control on his 13 R3 fans? If yes how did you do? Is EC to be checked or unchecked?

the fans rpm is amped up to 7000 max. This is same as default max AW fan speeds.

Use slider to determine max speed. On 15 r2 its 7000. I have set it to 6500 max. Please note this, before restart or shutdown please click System Auto button to set the fans to AW default, otherwise fans won't spin at all until you open HWinfo

I thought that slider was only for manual control.
