I use HWINFO32 but I think the fix works for both versions.

I had this issue as well with my AW 17 R2 I just received 2 weeks ago. I'm at work atm, but when I get home I will check my settings and let you know what to change in order to not get the BSOD.

No need for any settings to change manually in the ini.

I'm having the same problem, at first I thought maybe the fan arent suppose to get modify or something, but look like I'm not the only one. Oh yeah this is on the AW 15.

I had this issue once and when u rebooted I replicated the exact same thing that caused the bsod the second time and it didn't happen. Not sure what the hell is going on.

    This thing is aggravating.

Yea, both hw and afterburner were giving me audio clips and artifacts. I uninstalled both and just don't bother checking temps, anymore.....

Do you have the BSOD info? BCC, file causing it, etc...

So the settings worked? You should see an icon for fan control at the bottom of the settings window when you open it. I just set the fans 1 and 3(only options) to 5000 and let her rip.

Another window should pop up with the fan controls. Make sure you have "run as administrator" before opening hwinfo64. that may be the issue.

Hmm. Not sure why it wouldn't be opening. The biggest problem with most people is seeing the icon to begin with. What version are you running?

Also, look over the settings I posted again to make sure you have it exactly like I have it. It took me a while to get it to work.
