    Hey guys,

So I'm on vacation with my 17R2 4980HQ Win 10 Pro... Trying to install Intel XTU so I can overclock the CPU as I plan to edit a lot of GoPro & Canon video footage soon, downloaded it from their official website and I get the following error each time I try to install it:

I have never seen this before when installing Intel XTU, any clue how to fix it.?.

Make sure to run your Windows updates since it is possible that there are some missing digital certificates missing from Microsoft.

Thank-you, but that doesn't seem to be the problem as the OS is up to date (just double checked). I also installed a clean copy of Win 10 Pro before leaving for vacation and made sure everything is up to date including all the drivers.

This is the only issue I am having, no matter how many times I try to install Intel XTU the same message pops up. It's very irritating as I have never seen this before & don't know how to fix it.

    Disable secure boot.

Enable testsigning mode in W10 by right click command prompt

    bcdedit.exe -set loadoptions DISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS

    bcdedit.exe -set loadoptions DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS

    bcdedit.exe -set TESTSIGNING ON

Thank-you very much good sir; evidently all I had to do was disable secure boot, no need for the additional steps you included. Works like intended, much appreciated. :)

    Repped! ;)

    Cheers

Why use the Bloatware XTU? Why not Throttlestop?

I'm not as familiar with using Throttlestop as I am XTU. If you can link some good videos that explain in great detail how to properly configure Throttlestop I'd be happy to learn. I had brother Fox set it up for me once over a remote session and when he shipped one of my machines back to me after repairing it. Intel XTU comes much more naturally to me.

You'll find videos for setup in Throttlestop guide thread. Search in the later part in the thread. Don't use XTU. A bloated software who steals processor cycles. Or ask the author @unclewebb in the thread. He can give you an easy explanation of the use or look at those videos I refer to.
