Is the GTX 965M in the Alienware 15 R2 the old one or the newer, faster refresh version?

    Does anyone know? Thanks.

The old one ofcourse. The new series all have the 10xx designation.

Sorry I don't think you understood the question.

nVidia released a newer version of the GTX 965M at the beginning of 2016 with better clock speeds than the original 965M.

My question is whether the 15 R2 has the newer one. IIRC the 13 OLED has the newer one.

It's the first version (old). Only the 13 R2 has the newer GTX 965m.
