I was playing Project CARS and when I went to GPU-Z to see what was a limiting factor, I found "pwr". Does that mean that I am maxing out the power capability of the 1060 in my AW13r3, or does that mean the PSU itself cannot give anymore power to the GPU (and I need more power to the GPU).
NB: pCARS has a bit of a tendency to be a gaming power virus... and temp virus; it sends my GPU up to 90 Deg C whereas other games on my laptop only see high 70s to low 80s at the most - even at 1440p and even with games @ high / max.

PWR limits are set by the vBios first and foremost, and when the GPU gives that flag in GPU-Z it means your GPU is unable to draw more. The easiest way to see an increase is if Dell uploads an update to the vBios that we can download and install, such as for the GTX 1080 to 180 Watts. But Dell has not released one to their customers, so we are out of luck there. As well, I have yet to see a custom release of any of the 10 series GPUs for Alienware by anyone in these forum communities, I highly doubt you will find a custom "working" vBios mod that does not harm your system in some way.
Other ways to modify the wattage are rather dangerous if you do not do them properly and will void the warranty, I do not want to mention them as I do not want blame tossed my way, LOL. And seeing that you are hitting 90*C in Project CARS is not promising noting you have repasted CLU and ICD7 on the CPU and GPU. The only way you could improve the GPU temps is to CLU the GPU. Aside from that you are not in a great position. The PSU wattage, judging by your CPU not being able to be overclocked, should be more than adequate to power everything. -
Have you undervolted your CPU? -
The strange part though is that other racing games only get to the high 70s. The max voltage is .895v that it draws according to GPU-Z. I'm playing with battery life set to high performance. With re: to pCARS, it's regardless of 1440p or 1080p that this happens, and it's an anomaly to ONLY that game.
ETA: a 3DMark loop test only saw GPU temps hit mid to high 70s after 20 test cycles. I'm beginning to think pCARS hits the GPU that hard. -
GPU-Z says "pwr" limited
