I have an Alienware 15 R3 G-Sync enabled with a 60Hz FHD LCD. Unfortunately, the LCD has cracked. The original LCD is a LP156WF6-SPB2 and has Dell Part number F7HH2. Dell UK will not sell me a replacement screen as the laptop is out of warranty and suggested I purchase a replacement LCD from a third party.

I have made an attempt to order replacement parts based on the Dell part number and also on the LCD model number. On both occasions I was sent 'compatible' LCDs, which when fitted generally worked however, I did loose G-Sync capabilties. I have heard that Dell has a whitelist of LCDs in the Alienware 15 R3's bios which when matched with the appropriate LCD panel enables G-Sync capabilities (is this true?).

Therefore other than the LP156WF6-SPB2 does anyone know any of the other LCD model numbers which still allow G-Sync to function in the Alienware 15 R3 once I replace the LCD?

    Thanks
