Since Alienware comes with Stagelight, I am curious to see why forgo the Line In jack? Is it not used anymore?

If we have Line In jacks, Stagelight would become more useful. We could get direct sound inputs from headphone out or line out jacks, and we don't have to worry about USB to line in issue with uncontrollable recording levels.

Just something to ponder about, since gaming laptops can also be used in sound production and audio engineering.

Usually if being used on that level a usb sound card to avoid noise generation is a good idea as laptop internals have a lot of EMI.
