I have been buying Alienware and Dells for over 10 years now and have seen models with zero issues and models with tons of issues. Sometimes issues get over looked or don't get the sense of urgency until people get together and keep pressing about them. One example of that was back in the M15x days there was throttling that could not have been fixed by software fix and turned out to be an admitted design flaw. So much so that back then they ended up just replacing my system with an M17xR3.
My point in this is people need to complain. I don't just mean one person or two people. Everyone with the same issues needs to take the time out to report and complain.
The main Alienware 15 issues are as follows:
Fan speeds and heat
Thermal throttling
Power throttling
1080p LCD Ghosting
4k LCD Ghosting
So my personal suggestions that has worked for me in the past are for one call and complain to tech support. Do not let them just try and resolve it. Speak to a manager and inform them that there are multiple people experiencing this issue and you want it escalated. The problem cannot be resolved by replacing parts if the engineers have not fixed the issue.
Next file a BBB complaint directly. This will get the attention of a special Executive Escalations team that will respond to you in a couple of days. Again explain in the complaint that this is legit issue and inform them that this is not a isolated issue; explain that there are other customers with the same model that also have this issue.
Here is a link directly to the Texas Dell BBB complaints. (This works!)
http://odrcomplaint.bbb.org/odrweb/...ationquestions.aspx?bbbid=92&businessid=41453
If people actually take the time out to do these things and stay persistent things will get done. Either a resolution will be done or perhaps they would admit there is an issue.
The M15x throttling issue was discussed on here for months. I kept on them about the issue and eventually I had them asking me to help troubleshoot. They were sending me various video cards to test etc.
Again then ended up deeming the issue to be a design flaw.
Please don't give up!

Based on the recent new A05 bios which is still causing throttling etc. I think its time to try and get something done regarding this. This is a mess.
Please do as my first post says if you have these issues. -
There are several threads like the most recent with the A05 BIOS. Is no one interested in getting this fixed? I am very serious. If we all filed a complaint at the same time this would certainly force some attention. Or we could just complain on threads in here and get zero attention. I can complain but that will do nothing multiple people use their voice.

buy clevo
nothing will be done until they start losing $$$ -
Not true... If people keep thinking that and end up not voicing their opinion nothing will get done. If they didnt care about things like this they wouldn't respond to BBB complaints. They wouldnt have responded to the M15x throttling several years ago. They were sending me MXM cards to test the throttling back then and eventually admitted the issue, sent me a M17xR3 and shortly after discontinued the M15x.
The whole point is... complaining on NBR only helps when sharing with peers. If we all complained to both tech support and BBB at the same time... this can start moving forward.
This only works with legit wide spread issues. And if people actually do it. Would buy a Clevo if they had better support and warranty options. -

You cannot complain to a dead company. Let's just sell our Alienwares and buy something else from a good brand.

Dell must start to make high end again if I want to spend my hard earned money on them. Not trash. They can do much better than the New line. Socket desktop processors and socket gpu's can be the first step to come back as an high end brand. Nothing less. Then I can consider the brand again.Last edited: Jul 13, 2015 -

I wouldn't buy anything from DELL before they fire their entire Drivers team and replace it with a new one.
Examples:
Latest Realtek Audio Driver for Windows 7 (not 8) if installed does not properly install the Dolby Digital app and integrate it with the Audio unless you manually copy the PCEE4 folder from the previous driver to the new driver folder then run the installation. I reported the problem to DELL here on the forums and to their Regional Manager and he thanked me but what happened? Nothing, no audio driver update for almost a year.
Another example is the Alienware OSD App, after you install it, it copies drivers to this folder:
C:\ProgramData\Win764
But when you reboot, 2 of the files go missing: EMSC.dll & EMSC.sys so I have learned to rename those files then only allow the driver installer to reboot, after that I rename them back to their original name. If you don't do that and run a scan with CCleaner it would show you there are invalid registry entries pointing to those 2 files with DELL Magically ate.
Another example is the Alienware Area 51, been more than 8 months since its release and they JUST now released a BIOS update A02 but has barely anything to take home, doesn't fix the issue that if you install any graphics card higher than a 980 in SLI system won't boot (like the 980 Ti or Titan X), instead, they just realized its a garbage motherboard and replaced it with another one leaving all the owners with the release version of the older flaky motherboard in the dust with crippled systems that cannot have its graphics sub-system properly upgraded. -
Nice... Horror stories every day. And people still buying trash. When should people learn? http://forum.notebookreview.com/thr...2-owners-lounge.770314/page-147#post-10042629Spartan@HIDevolution likes this. -

There is no excuse for a machine to throttle. When the power scheme is set to "High Performance" the computer should run flat out (no throttle), even on battery. And doubly so, if the AC adapter is plugged in. No excuse. None.
I completely see the complaint the OP wishes to file with the BBB. I would complain too.Papusan and iPhantomhives like this. -

The amount of complaints in these forums of the same issues and the lack there of motivation to complain about the unresolved issues is slightly frustrating. Come on people, if you genuinely have an issue post about it here and then lets do something about it.
