    Hi folks,

I'm coming to you because it's been now a week I'm trying to find a solution to my issue, but can't find out AT ALL.

I swear, I'll send a 1000 payment for the one who has the solution (^^).
    I have an AW 2015 15' (GTX980m, i7 4720...)

    - I stream : my microphone is the Blue Yeti plugged on 1 usb port.
    - When I stream, I also use my headphones (Monster Beats with a mic), plugged on the jack, not to disturb the gf. I do not use the mic of the headphones because it just really sucks.
    - Here is the issue : the volume that captures my voice on my microphone is just incredibly low !

After 1 week of investigation, I found out that the issue came from Sound Blaster recon3DI.
Indeed, on the SB Panel, it does not detect my microphone but a network of microphones. Wth is that ?

No matter what I do, when I test with audacity, the volume of recording is just too low !
Normally, a gain of 50% is just too much
=> I have to set it at 70% and still, not enough.

I tried all kinds of settings. I even uninstalled SoundBlaster to only install Realtek drivers, and still : my recording voice is very very low.

I tried the microphone on my business laptop (classical Lenova with realtek drivers) and it wonderfully works : 50% of gain under audacity and my voice is clear and high.

I'm afraid this is another AW issue, I found another person concerned by my problem here : http://en.community.dell.com/owners-club/alienware/f/3746/t/19631655

Do you guys thinks there is something related to the fact that I use at the same time an USB mic + headphones (on which there is a mic) plugged in the jack ?

Thanks a lot for having read me and for your help !

The more I use the laptop (it's been 6 months now that I have it), the more I discover that this was one of the most expensive one I've bought, and that brought me so many headaches.

My previous MSI or Asus : working for 2 years : never had any issue :/

It has nothing to do with the laptop itself. The USB microphone is not like a micrphone perse it is a soundcard with a microphone built in. It is conflicting with the SB recon software.

Thanks a lot for the answer mate.

Do you eventually have a solution because it's quite frustrating not being able to use the microphone for the recordings :/

    Thx a lot in advance.

That unfortunately not. I have to test it myself to find a solution. But try to look into using your yeti inside your audio application with an ASIO driver that comes with the Yeti.

A couple things that comes to my mind.
You can use a headphone adapter. Since your headphones does have their own microphone I suppose it's a 3pole 3,5 mm jack. use a 3.5mm Jack adapter or extension cable that has at the end a 2 pole 3.5mm jack, canceling out your microphone on your headphones, and your pc won't be able to detect that headphone anymore.

Another thing you can try is go to the Sound Blaster settings. Should be accessible through the icon tray.
Go to jack setup, and I assume it is set to "PhoneHeadset and x"
Change it to "Headphones and headphones"

This recognizes both 3.5mm jacks as normal headphones ignoring the 3rd pole of the jack. Try both the jacks on that setting and see if there is any difference.

Another thing you can try is go to sound in control panel.
    Go to the recordings tab.
And if you see both of your microphones, rightclick and disable the one Headset mic.

And if that still doesn't help, that means windows is VERY ****ty in terms of how they handle multiple microphones

    Hey,

Thanks a lot mate for your detailled answer.
The thing is that I have already tried everything you were talking about.

I have surely set headphones to Headphones, also disabled the mic that I don't need, but still, the volume is low.

The only alternative for the moment I found was to amplify a lot (+7 gain) on OBS for my voice to be heard at a decent volume.

I upgraded to the new big update 1511 Win10 but the issue is still here.
I don't really what to do for the moment so if somebody has a dam** clue about what is going on, I'll take :)

    Thx guys.
