Does the AW 15 still have thermal issues?

Was just reading about the issues people were having with uneven thermal paste and with screws being uneven or something like that. Are these still prevalent in the models listed on their site?

Asking about both the 15 and 17

It has gotten better for sure but unfortunately there are still some problem units being shipped out mostly due to quality control issues I feel more then anything else. The paste was changed back in December and a thermal pad placement was also changed which made it better and Alienware has recently told us they are making changes again to make it better still, so they are continuing to not only try to fix the problem but make keep pushing for better solutions again.

Ah, well I hope I get a good unit then. Sad to see QC get pooped on with such quality laptops.

Reminds me of the whole hinge fiasco with the m11x

Judging by our discussions with Alienware they are just as concerned as we are and changes are coming. They have been working on cleaning up the manufacturing and getting everything to where it should be, and where we expect things to be from a premium product.

Definitely looks that way, good to see them not just sitting idle waiting for the next models to come out to fix it. +1 To them.
