    I have an AW15 which I upgraded to Win10 and then did a clean re-install of Win10.

I remember before the clean install, I got a pop up asking me if I want to enable the battery desktop mode whereby the laptop discharges the battery to 75% and holds it there when it detects that the AC is plugged in for prolonged periods of time.

After the re-install, I did not receive this notification, but the laptop went ahead and enabled this feature anyways.

The battery dropped to 75% today and is being held there saying "plugged in, but no charging" even when the AC is connected.

Is there anyway to disable this feature? Are there any software/drivers I need to download that was removed during the clean re-install in order to control this feature?

I don't mind wearing out my battery early.

It's still in the Power Option, aka the Battery icon in the taskbar tray, Right click it and you should see "Desktop mode battery charge" listed on the top, click it then disable in the popup dialog.

Here is a picture of where it is and what it look like.

So mine doesn't actually have the "Desktop mode battery charge option." It has the other 3 though.

I suspect it's probably because I did a clean re-install of Win10 and removed the pre-installed software that controls that function. Do you know what software/driver I need to download to get that option back?

On-Screen Display App. You may have it installed, so a uninstall and reinstall may do the trick. Otherwise, just install it.
