I debated for awhile if I should sell my desktop and get a laptop. After much researching and pricing out laptops I finally found one I wanted at dell's outlet site and purchased it. The description said it had a gtx 1080 but the one I received had a gtx 1070 instead. After being on the phone with Dell for a couple hours and transferred well over a dozen times it was confirmed that I purchased a gtx 1080 laptop and a tech verified mines was only a 1070. But after that I was transferred a few more times and put on hold before 9pm hit and I was answered with a recording to call back during normal business hours. They didnt have any more gtx 1080 in the outlet when I was on the phone and I didn't decided to get a laptop nor pay what i did for one to have a gtx 1070. Was wondering what my chances are of dell making this right vs me having to take a refund? Thanks

I don't think they would try to send you a wrong system at the very least.

Have you tried to pressure them that you will return the laptop if they don't send you the right system? Also try asking for a manager/supervisor.

I had the tech and one of the other person I talked to verify the description was a 1080 and the tech remotely verified mine was a 1070. Last person I talked to before getting the closed recording wanted me to just get a refund but at the time they didn't have any other 1080 for sale, they now have 3 but all with qhd screens and I wanted one without g-sync for optimus. I am sure the description was mistake
(side note I was actually going to contact you after playing with the system for a few days about a repaste)

Just be persistence and ask for what you paid for. Most likely , they will build you a new one with the correct specs. You just to have to let them know that it's their mistake and you should get what you paid for.
