hey all, so I have no idea what's going on here.
Turned off my m15x, put it in my bag, took it to work. Pulled it out and hit the power .... nothing.
Thought, hrm, wonder if it didn't fully shut off or something, drained the battery, or maybe battery wasn't charging when plugged in.
Came home, plugged it in, nothing. Power button, nothing.
I followed steps below, Disconnected battery (so stupid you have to open the damn thing up to get to the battery) held power button down for 20. Plugged it in. Nothing. reconnected battery, hit power. nothing. Plugged it in with battery connected, nothing. Checked to make sure the power button cable was properly in, it is ...
Any suggestions ? Should I order a new battery or DC jack and try that ?
I have been using it with the AGA with my 1080ti and I have been loving the system, don't want to waste the money on buying something new after getting the 1080ti.
Thanks all ...

Welp I ordered a D/C Jack ...
Anyone else have any advice ? Anyone experience this at all ? -
Ok, this gets weirder: Had the 15 sitting on the couch upside down (top facing down) for several hours today. Go in to my office, and go to set it down on the desk. Out of habit I opened it and because the power cord was sitting right there I plugged it in ....
Alien powerbutton lights up and starts cycling colour like its charging the battery !!!!
Anyway, left it for an hour, came back, button still lit up, pushed the power button. Button goes black, nothing happens thing appears dead again.
Anyone have thoughts on this !?!?!? -
Another piece of evidence ... the USB charges things when they are plugged in while the PC is of, as long as its plugged in.
Hitting the power bar actually stops and starts the charging. Nothing else seems to be happening in the computer.Vasudev likes this. -
i guess u have alienware 15 r2, and thats not M15 series.. please update it.. FYI if u have changed DC cable jack, even after that when you turn on nothing happens, then its ur motherboard issue, check if the blue ring on charger turns off when u press the power button, i suggest you to remove battery and run only with DC power.. try this method.. if it doesnt work.. then its ur board fault.. and also try an external HDMI cable to monitor.. just to make sure ur there isnt any issues with display things..

Thank you for the feedback. Yea, I had the ring on the power button come on a couple times but when I pushed it, it went dead. I have tried removing battery and running on DC only - nothing.
I am fairly convinced its the mobo .... but i have a new jack and a new cmos battery ordered just in case. I already went and bought a new desktop this weekend though. i5 8600k, 32GB 3200MHz ram, put the 1080ti SC2 from the alienware graphics amp into it, spent 3 hours with microsoft last night porting over my OEM copy of windows 10 from the Echo 15 R2 to the new computer. She is a beast, but I am going to miss my portability.VICKYGAMEBOY likes this. -
