so my one month old 17 R4 won't power up. I left it on my desk and came back to a black screen. The power adapter has a green light but it cuts out when connected to the laptop. Dell is saying dead motherboard. But wanted to see if anyone else has had this? Any hack fix? I'm international on biz, so timing couldn't be worst.

Yeah its looking like the motherboard is dead. I tried all the tricks, and it's just dead. Nothing happens, tried different charger, lunseating cmos and clprt1 pins and still the same. Just sucks as I am Peru on assignment. Ugh

Hi, i had a similar problem with my 15R3. I removed the rams, clean with alchool, reinstalled and the laptop came back to life. Good luck!
