    Hi,
during playing Witcher 3 I got some current limit throttle. I dont remember I had something like that before. Strange is, that there is no issues with framerate, temps is between 85 - 92C, TDP is constant (about 34W), there is no Power Limit throttle and Thermal throttle. Clock is very stable at 3.3 GHz. So no clock issues. What is the current limit throttle then? Is it serious? It has something with A06 bios?

It prevents you from turbo boosting even higher. So with 3.3ghz you reach the limit of the system.

not as far as i know. i think most of us have it when the CPU is fully stressed on all 4 cores.

Current limit throttling should not be there...
Have you modded anything? Modded GPU vBIOS? Flashed a MEI BIOS injection from a post on NBR?
Or are you just stock vBIOS and Straight up A06?

    Throttling is throttling...

I'm going to do some Witcher 3 testing and see what mine shows.
I now have a great contact at Dell that has direct contact with the Alienware engineering team.
So if there is indeed still throttling still going on we can show them the evidence.

This is clear A06 bios with no modding or anything. Ill put better screenshots later. Just one idea. I have not installed Intel MEI driver, as Windows 10 TR2 stated that it has newer driver installed. But maybe this could be an issue and I should install from Dell site (even if older driver)

FYI, I have found some versions of the Intel DPTF drivers cause throttling. I'm careful to only use the ones on Dell's site.

Ya I was going to say I have seen certain drivers cause throttling. What people do not realize is that some drivers are specifically modded by manufacturers or are selected by them to have the best stability. Perhaps this is not ideal but it is what it is.
