Ever since I downloaded the newest NVIDIA "update" for Doom Eternal for GTX 1070, about a week or two ago, my Alienware laptop has been getting constant BSOD crashes. Right now I got about 4 or 5 in a row, with each one separated by like 10 to 15 minutes.

Also, before the Alienware logo, for some unexplained reason the computer shows "Checking Media Presence" before displaying the Alienware logo and then running Windows 10.

I tried the "fix" that was recommended. But it did not do anything.

How do I fix this problem?

What BSOD error code are you getting?

The second issue could be related to the first one but it could also be completely separate. Check your boot order in the BIOS, Make sure that your main OS drive is selected first. This is usually the reason for your problem but if it doesn't help then it could also mean that the drive is failing or you have some sort of Windows corruption. I would be saving any important data onto another drive just in case. Also try reseating your drive.
Try running the ePSA diagnostic (F12 during post) and see if you have any hardware issues.

It is definitely GPU and Doom Eternal related.

    Here is what happened:
    1) I restarted my computer, deleted GTX 1070 Driver from the Device Manager.
    2) I restarted my computer again, it installed the driver automatically. There were no BSOD problems for hours and hours.
    3) I launched Doom Eternal. Played a bit. Game was running fine.
    4) Closed Doom Eternal.
    5) Within 1 minute of closing Doom Eternal the computer BSODed again.

Run ePSA Diagnostics, if all clear, download Pop! _OS live Nvidia image, and boot from USB. If it keeps crashing, it's a MB/GPU issue and you are done. If not, you can try rolling back windows updates or reinstalling.

It's also worth checking GPU temps. If they are very high, repasting might help.
