Hello, I am considering purchasing an Alienware 15 soon. I currently have an alienware m14x r1 (still running strong) but it desperately needs to be retired. I would love to have an 980m (due to non-replaceable GPU's) but I will settle for a 970m (if I have to) But, here's a deal that I calculated based on my own reasoning, this is not a quote. I assume 1450 for the current AW15 with 970m, add the 980m for 350, which makes the MSRP 1800, tax will be 144. Now, I do have a 10% discount (i'm assuming this applies and is eligible) so that's -180. There is a 100 dollar promotion deal for laptops over 1499, so that's -100. I know there is a 2% EPP -36. I would like to get the cash value for the tablet offer -70 (maybe), and I will get a 100 dollar credit statement from my bank if I do make the purchase, plus zero interest for a year (yay!). In the end, I would like to get this between 1450 and 1500. If anyone can offer any suggestions when I talk to a representative, that would be great. Also, if anyone have any coupon codes, I will be very appreciative. Thanks!

Honestly, your deal sounds good. I've heard of people getting similar. Just be prepared to spend some time haggling! Good luck!

May be a bit difficult since it's a bit of a drop but you should be able to come close if you try.

you want a good tip, wait a few days after receiving it, then go to dell chat (returns), and tell them you are thinking of returning it, they will offer you $100 + tax to keep it, its cheaper for them to give you the 100 back than for them to relist it as a refurb on there outlet website

Seem's like a good strategy, but it also seems a but deceptive. I want a great deal yes, but I also want to be fair. :) I would like to pay 1200 for the gtx 970m model, or 1500 for the gtx 980m. I'll try my luck.

If it makes you feel better, they'll probably end up screwing you later down the road anyway judging from the way they're quickly going downhill. ;)

YMMV but if you work for a company under Dell's MPP, you may want to try emailing the MPP coupons department (the people who issue the Partner/Company of the week coupons). I had a generic 10% discount coupon which expired but they generously gave me a unique 16% discount coupon instead.

I talked to a few sales reps and although its not the best deal, one of them got me the following: 16% discount coupon + $100 coupon + 2% MPP. I tried to apply another $75 coupon at the time but the rep didn't let me so I haggled for a additional $30 discount instead. I also got the 5% Dell Rewards + 1% Cash Back from my credit card. My total at checkout was $1800 USD after tax (~8%) for the 15" model with the 980M, 1080p screen, and 3 years warranty (base price is $390 before any discounts). Though I bet even at $1500, the profit margin on these laptops must still be huge...

This will be my first Alienware system and if I am not satisfied, I think of the returns refund as a added bonus. :D

FWIW, I just got my AW15. The free Venue tablet wouldn't work with the EPP discount. I don't need another useless tablet anyway...

So would you say that your deal would've been under 1500 excluding the warranty?

The laptop would have costed me less than $1500 if I chose to stick with the stock warranty. Every owner also has the option to get 5-10% back from returns so that brings the price down even further.

The point is that if you work for a company under Dell's MPP, try contacting their coupons department and asking for a partner of the week coupon or equivalently a 16% discount coupon. Maybe they can give you something even better like the 20%+ ones if your lucky.

Also keep in mind that not all of the online sales reps will allow stacking of coupons. It took me 5 tries to find one what was willing to do it.

Thanks. I do work for a Dell MPP company. Could you forward me their contact information? Would I have to email or call? I'm planning to make the purchase sometime this week, if I can score a nice deal.

Check your PM. I emailed them and a manager responded to me within a business day.
