hello,
So I'm thinking of upgrading the screen on my my AW15r3's screen which is the 1080p IPS 60hz Gsync (F7HH2) 30 pin eDP to the 1080p TN 120hz Gsync 30 pin eDP (B156HTN05.1).
I've read that people are having trouble with adjusting their screen brightness after installation.
Does anyone have any feedback after changing monitors? Also can anyone confirm my model number for the 120hz screen is correct and it's not the B156HTN05.2? I've read that they are interchangeable. Does anyone also have a good source to buy these panels? I've already inquired with @woodzstack about his. If anyone has any input on this any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I had Dell replace my 60Hz G-Sync IPS to the 120Hz TN like you are wanting to have done. No issues with brightness and loving the refresh rate again. When you take off the bezel to replace the screen, be careful, especially if you plan on selling the IPS screen after because when the tech took it off, part of the tape/glue took a tiny portion of the screen, breaking it. Not a problem for me because I didn't need it but if that is your plan, be gentle with it.

Hey, thanks for the reply!
How are the colors to you on the new screen? I'm so close to pulling the trigger, got into contact with woodzstack already. One thing I'm concerned about is the vertical viewing angles on it. A review I saw on YouTube really highlighted the colors washing out when you look at it from the bottom. I don't have much room so I mostly game on my bed and on my lap. Has this given you any trouble? Another thing that I'm considering is that I only have a 1060. Don't think it'll be able to push out those frames to 120. -
The viewing angles are actually fantastic for this screen. The view from the bottom doesn't really matter at all; I'm usually using it on my lap and the increased brightness offset the slight wash of colours from the change of viewing angle. The colours certainly are not as vibrant as the IPS but that can be mitigated by using the NVidia Control Panel and increasing the vibrance and gamma; not perfect but much better.
I actually had both at one point during an exchange and took pictures side-by-side. Here are some first-hand comparisons of them. IPS is in pink and 120Hz TN is in blue. Hope that helps.

I on the other hand will like to replace my 1080p TN 120hz Gsync (Au optronics B156HTN [DELL P/N: HPJGK]) with the 1080p IPS 60hz Gsync. My needs are not particularly PC gaming
I would forever be grateful if you guys can confirm the screen manufacture number & details of the 1080p IPS 60hz Gsync.
Thanks -
Hi, any update on your quest to get 120Hz? I would love to do mine too. Thanks!
I have an Alienware 15 R3 with 60Hz IPS Gsync (I don't have my laptop with me at the moment, not sure how to find its part number) -

Howdy,
Just following you gents discuss the 120 (TN) vs 60 Hz (IPS).. I am having the 120Ghz with G-Sync. I am a photography enthusiast (DSLR, no potatoes please) and use the screen for reviewing my work.
The 120 makes all my photos look washed out and hazy, in fact I started doubting my camera at one point... Long story short, any (ICC) calibration profiles I can use to make the 120 panel look more accurate and black rather than the paltry gray?
(If not, Worse case I may go back and haggle DELL to replace the screen to a 60 Hz IPS one).
Suggestions welcome please. -
