The laptop is a New Alienware 15 R3, GTX 1060. Basically I am simply trying to connect my laptop to my TV. Which shouldn't be something this troubling. I have everything set up right but Idk what is going on with the whole, iGPU not connected to HDMI output bs but this is frustrating and I am not even bothering to ask a simple Dell employee lol. I have a whole home theater setup which is easy for me, but even with all the settings set correctly, I can't get the laptop to detect it. Only thing I haven't tried is reinstalling the Nvidia driver. Tried loading a game and switching displays with the game running and the GTX 1060 activated - still wouldn't find it. Tried restarting the laptop with the HDMI cable plugged in too.

    Any suggestions/info would be appreciated.

Edit: Nevermind, must be the cable... oddly my thicker unused cables seems to not work whereas my thin, used for years cable still works? I'll have to test it or something. How does a HDMI cable just not work lol damn
