    Can I use another external GPU dock instead of the Amplifier?

    It's also based on a PCI connection. Can I just connect it using Alienware's cable?

    No because Alienware's cable is proprietary, made only for the GA.
    If I recall, DIY external GPUs use either Thunderbolt or Express Card ports, neither of which are present in the newest laptops (and Thunderbolt is only on select Windows computers).

    There might be some options in the aftermarket but none that I can think of at the moment.

    I've been asked about the external PCIe connected ones, those don't work either cuz there's no slot to connect it to on the motherboard of the machine.
