Hello guys... I really need help deciding what to do.
I currently have a UHD alienware 15, and it has a lot of issues (6820hk at 100c) and the well known IPS screen backbleed. Dell is going to exchange my laptop but I am planning on returning for the 1080p 120hz screen.
Personally, I never used a 1080p 120hz screen and my brother said its the best in the world.
I probably will be traveling often and let's say its 50%. The games I planned on playing will be Witcher 3, Overwatch and titanfall2 which benefits from 120hz, but the huge downside is the battery life on the laptop (3hours gsync vs 4.5hours on UHD). I'm a coder, if that helps with the decisions.
Should I make that return and get the 120hz screen? In the process I may lose $100 (discounts) that dell offered me to keep instead of returning it.
Please help me decide!

I think UHD wont be noticable on 15" screen. Furthermore GTX 1070M isnt enough to get max setting on UHD. Therefore the 120hz FHD is the right choice. Hope this help.

FHD... 120Hz and 5ms response time. No brainer here.

Please do be wary currently all of the AW line experience severe overheating problems. You will have to repaste yours if you decide to buy it.
Just check the forum for info on uneven core temps etc
Also definitely go for a version with 6700hq, I know it's slower and not so appealing but it helps. Temps might still reach high 80's or low 90's though.
I'd say go 120hz screen 100%. UHD on a 15'' is a waste and as stated above 1070 can't deal with 4k.
I hope you won't have any further problems with AW! -
As mentioned above, go 120hz with lower res. Unless your 15" is rocking a 1080 or better, you'd mainly be enjoying the 4K res in windows or older games. I never tried gaming in 120hz prior to my 17 R4 and let me tell you, I am a believer. You think 60fps is smooth? Wait till you play in 120. 60 actually starts looking slightly choppy. Also keep in mind Windows kind of sucks at 4k scaling, even on Windows 10, which you'd think they figured out by now.

You're obviously not going to see 60+FPS but, the instances where I had to scale down to 1440p were fewer than when I ran at 4K.

I personally hit around 6+ hours with the 15" 4K on optimus mode.
