Just received the R3 and noticed that it wouldn't boot up. Turns out, dell hasn't installed windows 10 on the 256gb ssd, though I have paid for it. Called them to ask about it, they told me to download the image from their website. But the download is failing consistently and I'm not able to use a download manager to capture the download. Called up dell again, got to know that they can send me a thumb drive containing windows but they told me it would be delayed. Reading the forum, also came to knowthat it contains plain os(I could well do that with microsoft windows 10). Alienware customization, wallpapers etc wont be there, there won't be any drivers or preinstalled utilities.
Does anyone have a ssd cloneable image which they made when they received their notebook? Is it possible to share that image? I've noticed that this is possible since the windows 10 key is in bios and doesn't interfere between two installations
Config - i7-6700hq, 970m 3gb, 8gb ram, 256gb ssd, 1tb hdd. Though I think for cloning only ssd size matters

Maybe you can ask a refund and buy a new AW.

Oh god no! It took for eternity for this laptop to arrive. It's better off downloading the clonable image on my m17x and rig up the new one's ssd with the image. That would be better. It's funny to return a machine just cus Windows isn't installed.

just go on microsoft's website and download the media creation tool. Install windows on your ssd. Yes dell should have done this but really its not that hard and windows installs within 15 mins

Alienware customizations and preinstalled drivers and software's won't be there! I've preserved it on my m17x Windows 7 so would like to have one with full aw customization

You can find the drivers on the dell site.

The only thing you wont get is AW wallpapers which are available on line.

I'm no trying to be difficult - just saying you are unlikely to find this and its not really worth it also as a clean reinstall from MS is recommended by Dell.

Oh well then, okay! I could live with the MS installation now
But would like if someone had an image and could share it cause vanilla windows installation doesn't have the look and feel of alienware!

I'm going to insert this quote from another user who asked for a factory image. Click the link.

I don't understand the obsession. Why can't you just install Windows 10 from Ms and install the Dell drivers. Mind boggling
