Anyone know if HIDEvolution will solve the heatsink problem on order?

Noticed that HIDEvolution has a custom thermal paste option that includes 'optimal readjustment of thermal pads'. Does anyone know if this involves fixing the uneven pressure problem?

i think yes, because one of the problem was that they used too thick thermal pad on a vram zone ... so they fixed it using 0,2mm thermal pads that is really hard to find

I just got my 17r4 with 6820 / 1080 from hidevolution last week. With oc profile 3 i'm seeing temps in the high 60s to low 70s with core differential of 2-3 running occt. I selected the CLU/ICD option.

So far i'm happy with the laptop. Only problem being they don't honor the free games advertised on the configuration page.

There's a few places to source some from.
One must search for thermal tape rather then "Thermal pads"
Also, they are more like 0.1mm.

It should unless the heat sink itself is damaged (and hopefully they'd catch that before they sent it out to you). If I hadn't gotten such a good deal on my 13 R3 I'd have considered ordering from them for the repast service and if they offered that by itself I'd be very interested.

Alright, sounds good guys. Having a service to do the repasting for me puts the Alienware several notches up my list of possible purchases. Thanks!
