    Hi guys,

I run my laptop always on power. Is that a problem ? Since in newer models I can't remove the battery I am left with no option.

Always running on power will not harm my battery, right ? If it does what options do I have ?

I would once every 3-4 weeks unplug it and run it down till it's almost dead. Turn it off let the battery cool. Plug it in and let it fully charge before booting up. This helps do a full proper cycle on the cells.

Cycle the battery once per month ain't a bad idea but don't drain it beneath 15-20% - that's not healthy for it.

Exactly as the others said. You should be good as long as you exercise the battery once a month down to about 15%.

Well I guess you should know now. It has been a feature on laptops almost 20 years

Thanks, I found that just as you were posting, I guess I could have poked around a little more before posting. My next question was what kind of warning it is but I'll poke around in the sound settings to come up with one that I will remember, I have always cycled my batteries on just about everything I own except my laptop, I just didn't think of it. I remember having to replace the battery on my GT70 earlier then I expected and it make me wonder if it could have lasted longer had I done this.

That's been my practice with laptops for almost years. I have a aw14xr2 with original battery and it's still working great, my 14 is doing pretty good but just recently starting showing signs of less capacity. Even though batteries are suppose to better now, lately with a couple newe models I've tested I'm not sure. I have the old saying rattling around in my head "they don't make them like they use to". To early to tell though. But I stand by my battery practice lol

    thanks mate...

Question: another day, i forgot to plug the charger and was watching a movie, and them laptop shutdown i guess, or hybernate/sleep (dont really know). So i plugged the charger, pressed the power button, but by my mistake, i pressed other keys, such as FN+all Fs, because i was thinking some key would woke up my AR15R3.
Them the notebook stopped turning on. The power light was on, but whenever i pressed it, nothing happened... i tried to hold it for a few seconds, the power light changed color, sometimes the alienware logo light (above power button) turned on, but NO IMAGE/SCREEN was loading.
I waited about 1 hour with charger connected, trying those steps, but nothing. Them, after i was tired, i unplugged the charger and tried one last time to press power button. For my surprise, my AW15R3 turned ON, and RESUMED my previously session (like when laptop is sleeping), and i had to type my password and my movie was there.

Do you know why this happened? Im asking because if i have this problem again, i would like to know how to handle it.

Just change system defaults whilst low battery action to Do nothing or shutdown. http://www.dummies.com/computers/pc...w-battery-warnings-on-your-windows-10-laptop/
