There is a reason Alienware is developing such a terrible reputation in the last few years.
They really are an abysmal company.
If it was a one-off issue with a single computer, I would understand.
My AW17 was replaced after 7 repair dispatches failed, the replacement BSOD'd in an endless loop.
In the latest, they acknowledge the AGA doesn't reliably work with the 980Ti. They have no fix, no ETA for a fix.
Are insulting, don't call back when they schedule one and the last rep refused to let me speak to a supervisor.
It's really quite a shame. Alienware used to make products and offer support that were the envy of the market.

Called it! Sorry, couldn't resist. I predicted this a while back.
Anyway, I'm sorry this happened and I hope you sell that Alienware and stop digging the hole deeper around you. I would have not even opened the replacement and sold it on the spot. Let someone else deal with the issues. -
Yup. You sure did. Last January, IIRC.
Lesson learned. -
That's really too bad, because after switching to another brand recently, my experience has been less than stellar. The hardware seems fine so far, but trying to find support has been crazy, mainly because their support information seems to be translated directly from Chinese via Google Translate (I'm not joking - their videos are clearly being run through a translation software). One thing I'll say about Dell/Alienware - they know how to do a Tech Support site right, and for the most part, their actual support has been great in my experience. I recently had some keys break from my son's M17x, and they had a guy out two days later to replace the keyboard. Also gave me a Windows 7 restore USB key.

Sorry to hear your trouble. My 980 Ti has worked just fine in the AGA for over a couple weeks now. Owned the laptop for 6 flawless months as well with extremely heavy use. Coming from 3 previous Asus ROG laptops and an MSI, I have been nothing but impressed with this one.
Alienware never again
