    Hi all,
I have just bought an Alienware monitor the supports up to 240hz.
I’m just wondering what’s the best way and what do I need to get more than 60hz when plugged into my 15 r3 as I believe hdmi only supports 60hz And want to use it with my laptop for now until I get a amplifier in the new year.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Depends if you have the gsync version fo the aw15r3 or not. Not sure if Gsync monitors support higher refresh rates on HDMI though. Mine doesn't.

I don’t have a gsync version but if I connected it via display port could I use the monitor above 60hz

Depends if the display port is routed through the Intel GPU or not. Not sure about that with the 15R3.

    I have a 15r3, I connect via display port.

I have the Alienware 34" monitor at 120hz. Doesn't seem to be an issue for me
