Blame the brexit yes voters that destroyed the sterling pound's worth compared to other currencies.

Yep, this is exactly why I will not be upgrading my current machine. As much as I would love to have a GTX 1070, to get even close to my current spec is just too much of a price hike. It's insane.

Fortunately the AW is not my main machine and gets relatively light use....

I will extend the warranty on my current machine instead, maybe I'll get a "free" upgrade at some point ;)

Yes the price has gone up in the UK, the one I ordered was £1649 with 6700HQ and 1070, FHD but I paid £1480 with the 10% off now the price has gone £1799 wtf  I would of never bought a Alienware for that much, and got a instead Clevo 100%

no i thnk you are all missing the real point. maybe it was just an introductory price. imo i actually thought the prices was very cheap considering even before they offered me a discount. kinda regret cancelling because i could of used it and returned it when the aw13 is ready to order or sell it for more.

Part of price rise is actually due to the rise in cost of memory in the industry. This has been attributed to cell phone manufacturers buying up memory for their new devices, not the least of which Samsung with their recall of the Note 7 and re-manufacturing of them in a very short time frame. I'm sure there are other reasons as well but that's the one we can at least point out and understand.

Prices have gone up again lol... getting a bit of a joke now tbh, returned my 15 because of an issue with it. 6820hk, 1070, 16gb 2667hz, UHD 4K which I paid £1827 and now for that model is £2138 lmao

This is getting ridiculous now my original spec is now gone up £250 in less than 3 weeks, maybe they can only make so many units and demand is high enough for them to put prices up and up until demand eases then they will reduce slightly. Taxing the early adopters

Glad I got a refund as the FHD screen suffered from bad BLB and ghosting, and the 6700hq was not good, as it was bottlenecking the system, and also ran hot sometimes going to the 80c, as the cpu would be using the all cores around 90-100%, in most of the games I played,
which could not push gtx1070 past 50% gpu useage, the gtx1070 also run quite cool about 63-65c, maybe thatr because it was 50% or below most of the time, was going to do a repaste of the gpu and cpu but scince the cpu was bad I didn't waste my time.

The build quality was nice and the keyboard had an issue where when you pressed the the key down on certain area's it would make a hollow kind of noise as apposed to a solid sound noise that the rest of the areas of the keyboard made,
kinda of like if the keyboard was not fitted properly in some sections, so not a great system maybe the the gtx1060 might of been a better match for the 6700hq,

But for the gtx1070 I think possibly the 6820hk might be better or just go with a Clevo with a proper desktop Cpu,

But in the end it was not worth the price and, thought that system would be so outdated in a year and it didnt even run to its full potential, so just built a mini ITX build with a small monitor..etc that I can chuck in a rucksack! runs cooler and everything works perfect.
