Hey guys! So I sent in my notebook for repairs almost 2.5 weeks now and I'm just wondering on how long dell can take to repair my alienware? I have a M17R2. I think dell has been lacking in there service because when they told me on the phone it was only going to take a maximum of 10 business days to be repaired and back in my hands. They told me that the part needed to repair my computer is currently out of stock and that they do not have a date on when it will be there... Furthermore, they had a diagnostic hold on it for almost a week before this saying that they were missing another part and when it finally came it was in repair status. A week later I get an email saying another part is missing... Please give me some advice on how I should proceed with this..

I have had Alienware reps tell me to avoid the depot. These systems carry next business day onsite warranties.
Other cheaper Dell's carry a "Depot Only" warranty so clearly the depot is less of a "benefit".
I would be on the horn with them complaining like a week ago.

Oh also if you file a BBB complaint there is a special team of people at Dell that try and prevent you from ending the BBB complaint bad.
    They usually resolve things quickly.

I'm a bit confused.. Do you have an M17X R2 or an Alienware 17 R2(2015)? The parts availability for the first one is very low and that could be what's causing this. The second one shouldn't have that manu issues if you're in the US.

Sorry.. it is the aw 17r2. So I spoke with them yesterday and they are saying now that the mother board is in and they have begun repairs and it should be back in my hands by Tuesday... which I am very skeptical about right now.. but I guess we shall see. If they aren't going to have it by Tuesday what do you guys think I can do about it? It's almost past 3 weeks already.

I'd personally stay away from sending ANYTHING into Dell for repair. The reps have a major lack of communication, this is clear, and unsurprising. Perhaps it's time to invest in the warranty where they come to your home. I had that on my r3 m11x and have it now on my 13 r2 (soon arriving). The other day I was told my package would ship on the 21st from one rep, that parts are on backorder from another, that it has been shipped (it wasn't at the time) and it was still in production. Yup. I'd steer clear of sending ANYTHING back to them or even trusting what they are saying fully. I hope everything comes back like new and fully functional. :)
