    Hi All,
Not posted for a while so hope you are all well.
I Have just ordered my new 17 R4 (Specs in Sig for those curious), and as such thought a peripheral refresh might be in order.
As such, just wondering what people are using, experiences and any recommendations/reviews of said equipment as user experience is more telling on forums like this than review sections on retailers websites
    All the best

I use an Everki Titan backpack to haul mine around in. It has far more space then the Alienware offerings but it is quite large and can get heavy depending on what you pack into it.

Logitech G900 for my main gaming mouse and so far I love it. It's light and the wireless/wired feature lets you go wired if your worried about input lag ( isn't any :p ) or if you need to charge at any time. The only down side is the battery is NOT user serviceable so if there is ever a problem with that then hopefully it's still under warranty.

G933 for my main headset and so far I really like it. I came from a set of G930's and I hated those things. The sound in the 933 has been much improved and they seem more comfortable. Battery life is far better and a lot of the disconnect issues have been sorted out, though I would have liked to see a wired/wireless option like the G900 mouse has. I know you can use the 3.5 headphone jack this way but your not getting surround through that. They are great for using with other devices like your cellular phone as well.

That backpack is a beast, definitely one to look at now as I was thinking of a new one. Interesting you chose to go for wireless gear though. Im running the old G502 at the moment and never had any issues with it, but as you say if im concerned about potential lag then the G900 offers a best of both worlds approach that could come in handy. One question I do have though, is if the battery isn't serviceable buy us, if it breaks can I just use it wired instead? (I am assuming so but have had some gear in the past that just died altogether).
As for the headset I currently have some Astro A40s that I doubt im changing anytime soon as they are really comfy and with dolby drivers I get the surround effects through perfectly (does help on BF1 or Battlegrounds).
You using any performance RAM or cooling station or anything at all too?

I presume that would be the case but I honestly don't know. I had to return my first one after two weeks because the battery wouldn't charge past 80% but the exchange has been charging and working perfectly. I wish the mouse was a little cheaper so I could buy one for my desktop as well :p

I have never replaced the ram in any of my laptops as I have always had 16gb in my Alienware's anyways and don't have a need for 32 ATM or probably any time soon for my needs. I remember reading a thread somewhere that had people replacing their RAM and then doing tests and honestly unless your going for benchmark scores there wasn't a whole lot of point or improvement , but that was DDR3 and I believe that was back in the M17XR4 and or Alienware 17R1.

I do use a Cooler Master U3 cooling pad when I am at home but when I am at work I just use a set of Cool Feet ( https://www.bluelounge.com/products/cool-feet). The U3 makes a little bit of difference when idling but I don't find it makes a huge difference when I put a load on the system. Idling I get 29-31c on the GPU and 29-34 on the CPU. Load laregly depends on the game but I don't seem anything over about 83 on the CPU and 66 on the GPU. I did repaste with ICD so I am not running stock paste.

Might see about going into a store and having a closer look at that mouse then - bit different over here in the UK though as high value goods like that tend not to be out on display unfortunately.

I've not replaced the RAM in the current 17 since I got that delivered and dont do benchmarking as I just want to play more than anything so will probably leave that all alone in that case, unless for some bizarre reason I do need more, but cant think of a reason why I would.

I've got a U3 at the moment too so will just use that, going to loan the old laptop to my flatmate so we can buy battlegrounds so may have to purchase another for that. Those cool feet look cool and are really cheap too, shame they dont seem to have made their way over the pond just yet!

Bottle caps would do pretty much the same thing :p Just elevating seems to do the trick.
