    Hi,

Want to know which Alienware model has HDMI IN. I have Alienware 17 2013. Thinking of upgrading but I do need HDMI IN as I use it all the time.

    Thanks

Funny thing is, its still listed as a feature on laptops that have never, and will never have it.

I'm pretty certain that's the definition of false advertising; so not only are Alienware currently unable to ship what they publicize thanks to their inability to monitor stock levels, but they are actively engaging in fraudulent sales tactics. Great!

HDMI in is like a feature that only 1% of users might ever use, kind of like eSATA, reason why is isnt there anymore, cause 99% of people dont care

That as it may be, it doesn't change the fact that it is extremely shady practice to advertise components and features that are not in any way available, and haven't been for some time.

Not to mention that, in the UK for instance, it is entirely illegal and should Trading Standards be alerted, would mean a very high penalty.

Ask for compensation if you don't like it.

Unfortunately, I wouldn't be the one asking for compensation because I don't own the product.

I am simply pointing out the dubious nature of Alienware's incorrect advertising; a tactic they are repeating with their newest laptops here in the UK.

Hrmmm... I thought my M18x R2 had it. I will check when I get home.

Ok, you are talking about new models. Never mind the crazy guy over here. o_O

Yeah, its all unnecessarily confusing. For some reason the new models are all listed as HDMI-Input capable, even though that feature disappeared before this product cycle began.

Likely a badly done copy/ paste job from the former product pages that never got fact-checked, so they never removed the listing for the new models.

    Either way, it needs correcting.

The newest model does not have it. The Alienware m18x R2 does.
