Hi, my wife and i just got Alienware 17 R4's, and whenever we connect to our wifi it works for 1 to 2 minutes then drops out. Nothing else does this except when we connect a laptop. I am using a TPLink Archer c7 v2. I have a smart TV connected to wifi, a couple cell phones. I have a Xbox one and smart Blu ray player connected via a switch. We can use all of this and both of our old laptops at the same time with no issue. The moment I connect the Alienware laptop, the 2.4 band drops and I have to reset the router. I tried updating the firmware...

    Any suggestions?
    Thanks.

Try this older driver without the Killer manager. The current driver is buggy.

Please download the INF package for driver version 12.0.0.230 here:
    www.killernetworking.com/support/Killer-Wireless-AC_INF_12.0.0.230.zip

Then extract the package and install via Device Manager. If you need some guidance on how to install a driver via Device Manager, please refer to the first article this page of our knowledge base (Installing drivers without Killer feature set):

Thank you for your help, I found the answer on the tp link forum. It's a known issue with this NIC card.

What was the answer on the other forum? Manual driver install as well?
My download speed is fine at the beginning but then drop to a crawl.

So it's a compatibility issue with the C7 router and killer NIC cards. TPLink provided a beta firmware upgrade and it all works fine now. Below is a link to that forum with the answers.

i have the same problem with my AW 15R3, using Dlink Dir 655.

But i got DC when my father's laptop connects to the network.

Same solution for me? (downgrade the killer driver)? gonna test it.

    thanks

I had reinstalled the drivers manually without the software but my downloads would still crawl, the drivers above however worked a treat. Much appreciated and this was in combination with a sky router and also devolo extenders.
