Below are the driver links and their recommended installation order.
Before running any of the files you downloaded, make sure you read this: "Are you sure you want to run this file?" [Yes or No] otherwise all the files within the driver whether you run it or extract it will have a BLOCKED status leading to incomplete erroneous installs.
Note: When asked to reboot, for the love of God you have a super fast system, follow the instructions and reboot it would only take a few seconds. do not take any shortcuts, I personally reboot after every driver installation whether or not I was asked to reboot by the driver and/or Windows itself.

Through support assist = yes, you should
People who install the OS and let Windows updates download their drivers are plain old lazy and do not deserve to come near an enthusiast level laptop. *pun intended*Kormi likes this. -

Don't use Support assist ever for running diagnostics. Dell switched to ePSA for replacing/checking hardware and using error codes from them. I installed it when I got my system and every time I get GPU stress test failed and said to update the app and it had same issue. Uninstalled it and ran FS in loop and played games. I checked the log files because there were lot of leftovers in Program Data\Dell folder and other random alphanumeric folders made by dell and it wrote/dumped "App requested more VRAM for extreme tessellation and caused TDR"
Before nuking the drives, I suggest you copy AW goodies from C:\Windows\oem or system32\dell\oem folder(s) for updated logo.Last edited: Mar 10, 2019 -

Confused by something... which dell/aw app is recommneded for updating? There is the Alienware SupportAssist app and also the Dell Update Application. Don't they do the same thing?
I've been using AW SupportAssist app (what is the plugin? Is that so you can run checks from the web?).
It's driving me crazy though... continually says that my Intel chipset "driver" needs updating. I've had this same behavior from several AW laptops I've owned as well. -

As for the Intel Chipset Drivers, if you don't install them with the -overall command in a command prompt then the setup will just end and nothing gets updated.
Here's a guide on how to update the Intel Chipset Drivers:
To ensure proper installation of the Intel Chipset Drivers in case you were not installing them for the first time after a format, do the following:
1) Copy the driver installation folder and rename it to something easy (ie. chip) to the root of C:\ then launch command prompt as admin
2) then type cd\ to go back to the root of C:\
Now the drivers will be installed completely because if you don't follow this method, then as soon as you run the setup regularly and hit next, you will notice that the installation completed and nothing happened.Tim V. and SpentaTONofMoolah4k like this. -
Once I reinstalled it doesn’t work as well as it used to. I just go to the dell website to update manually. Alienware Update works for drivers if you manually open it. Mine doesn’t auto launch which I’m fine with,

Feel free to ask if you have any more questions. -
I found better way, use Revo/BCU/Wise uninstaller/MS Fixit uninstaller tools to remove intel chipset SW (System component removal must be enabled in revo, bcu and wise) restart it and you're done. Install new chipset SW and behold you're on latest infs from 1970s. -
LOL
This was the first time ever that Intel chipset driver package wanted a restart.
@Vasudev
Year 1968 precisely.
Heh...now seriously. IS IT A PROBLEM TO HAVE ALL THIS STUFF INSTALLED?
Because I have no 100% clue what is safe to delete, even though I have a RAPR snip from a few weeks before this installation.Last edited: Mar 16, 2019 -

All is sorted, had a snip of 'RAPR' before 'OVERALL' installation, deleted stuff that was 'extra'. RAPR goes by version, not by date when selecting old drivers I noticed.
@Ultra Male some drivers definitely got updated with newer version, happy with the result. Good job and thanx !!!
And ... I do not have Area-51m, but I am really excited to read or learn anything about this laptop.
Thanx @Papusan and @Vasudev !!!
EDIT: I played 1 hour BF5 and I must have had a bad (old, conflicting etc.) driver till I installed the newer set. All is much smoother, no lag and occasional stuttering, it feels like communication throughput between components has been fixed. RAPR maybe does not show all drivers the Intel chipset driver installed, but I could be wrong.
Just for consistency, I post what changed, then I will stop littering this thread.
After Chipset drivers installation and cleanup (left) and a few weeks old snip (right).

Hey, Guys
I stumbled in to this forum after being frustrated by my new Alienware Area-51m. I had run the 3D-Mark test and score well below expectations. Adjusting the Alienware CC overclocking really didn't seem to do much, and adjusting the Nvidia settings along online guides were no help. I came here and remembered why I used to love to build systems, instead of ordering them. Checking the other threads and posts, I see you guys killing my 3DM scores out of the box... and not by a little bit either.
I went and downloaded some of the tools mentioned earlier in this thread and really love the MSI Afterburner. It looks easy to understand and use upon reading and watching videos. However, when I ran the Scan my A-51m hard rebooted during phase 3 both times that I tried to run it. I was watching the gages and it didn't seem that it was that hot when it booted.
I figure that you guys are at the top of your game in this area and maybe you might have an idea what is going on. I've got the i9/rx2080/16G version. So what do you guys think? Thanks! -
I'd post your 3dm score. Make sure both PSUs are plugged in.Papusan, Spartan@HIDevolution and rinocom like this. -

Is it safe to use the Dell SupportAssist program to update all the drivers?
I'm running it, but it looks more like some bloatware that is scanning my hardware & cleaning up files. -

Where can I go to make sure all those drivers are updates?
Dell's support page with its detect button shows I need to download the Intel Chipset Device Software Driver, which I did & now it's showing me I need to downloads it again after I rebooted.
But what about the rest of the drivers? Where can I check what version they are or if I even have them installed? -

But where do I go to find all the drivers are located at to know which are updated & which are not installed?
I don't want to downloaded a driver that might already be installed, that may cause a conflict or some kind of problem. -

SpentaTONofMoolah4k Notebook Enthusiast
Yeah, but where are the drivers located?
When I go m ThisPC > OS (C )
I get the option for Dell & Intel folders, but they have no sub folder for drivers in them.
Same in Program Files > Alienware & Dell folder. No sub folder fro the drivers.
How can I tell what my bios driver or what the driver for the Intel Chipset Drivers or Intel UHD Graphics or nVIDIA GeForce Driver are?
Do I just download & run them & they will make a folder for them?
