Hi all, about 1 hour ago, the screen suddenly turn black and I try to shutdown.

When I power on my 17r3, nothing appear, Alienware FX light all on, even alienware logo does not show, the hard drive light is flashing but nothing appear on screen.

Then, I try to connect HDMI to another monitor and it work fine. I can use extra monitor to create this thread but the screen on Alienware 17r3 still black.

Do you guys have any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance.

I've already try to clear CMOS and it still happen.

It was not totally black screen, it has led light but don't have anything on screen even my mouse cursor.

Right now, I connect my BenQ 27 inch monitor to use as duplicate display.

Today I just leave my laptop for 30 minutes and it turn off the display. When I came back, the display on laptop is ok and back to normal. After use it for around 2-3 minutes screen start to flicks and I wait.

This is a photo I take after screen flicks.

Could be moisture or something? Does the backside of screen feel very cold to touch than usual? Maybe you can move to some other place.

I have already found the problem. It is the LCD panel itself damaged. After change the new one with 4k screen, work great.

My current one is FHD will the 4K one work fine as a replacement? As i thought the connector port will be different.

    Thanks

The connector port is the same on the mainboard is 40 pin already. You have to buy the edp-40 pin to connect the board and 4k screen. And also the important thing is you have to find a little part I don't know how to say in english. It is used for hold the upper part to the lower part.
