I ordered the 17R4 with the 4K UHD screen (400 nits / G-SYNC / TOBII Eye Tracking), and I was shipped the AUO display.

    This is the part:
8CJK2 LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY, 17.3UHD, AG, EDP1.3, AU OPTRONICS CORP
C4V26 KIT, COVER, HNG-UP, UHD, EYE, AU OPTRONICS CORP, K

Out of the box, the screen bezel was peeling so I called Dell and they want to send a tech out to repair the bezel.

Furthermore I noticed a bunch of backlight bleed on the lower edge of the screen, so they're also sending out a new LCD.

But I think the new one is a SHARP panel not AUO. It's part number is:
H8PK4 Assembly, Liquid Crystal Display, HUD, UHD, EYE, S/K, 17R4

Does anyone know if the SHARP panel is also 400 nits and G-Sync? Is the Sharp panel non-G-sync? Is it less susceptible to backlight bleed?

I really hope that tech support did not order the wrong parts for my machine.

Can anyone tell me which 4K panel is better?

    I
It will be the auo panel you receive. Sharp don’t do a 400 gysnc.
If you do receive a sharp panel it will be 300 nits and won’t work with your motherboard.

Sharp has slightly better blacks. But overall auo panel non gysnc and gysnc are slightly the better panel for colours.

Thanks. Can you confirm what LCD is in the assembly for this part: H8PK4 ?

Elsewhere on this board it's said this is the assembly part number for the Sharp panel.

If, as you say, this panel can't work with my motherboard, the tech will have wasted his time and mine.

    Thanks!

Followup in case anyone was interested:

The Dell Tech came and installed an entire new screen assembly H8PK4 (the whole top half of the laptop). The panel in it was identical to my existing 4K AUO panel. It was not a Sharp panel.
