So I’m thinking about buying an Alienware 17 r5 with the following specs:

    I7 8750h
    Gtx 1070 oc 8g ddr5
    16 g ddr4
    256 ssd
    1440p 120 hz screen

What do you think about this specs/ the Alienware 17 r5 in general?
Is the cooling in this pc fixed?

What other pcs with the same or similar specs do you recommend?

Repaste and the cooling will work fine.

I have little to no experience doing that.
I was told that I would be fine without reposting the cooling, because since this is not the i9 there won’t be as much heat

You always have to repaste your notebook at some point. It's very simple really, following a youtube tutorial and you'll be able to do it yourself in no time.
