    Hi,
I repasted my alienware 17 r4 with thermal grizzly.
After that I open the laptop and checked the temperature after 5 minutes it's closed himself.
I removed the backplate and reassemble the ram then I opened again and it worked. I close the backplate and plug the power supply then I push to button I see the lights but after 5 seconds it's closed.
    Can someone help me?

I dislodged the cable and I opened the backplate again then reassembly the ram and battery cable and dc cable from motherboard. Pc is working now but probably it will happen again. Gpu temperature is low but Cpu temperature is unstable

I guess he means it is not booting, since it is a laptop not a robot, therfore it can't open itself...

If you are not seeing the initial Alienware logo it means its shorting. Dissassemble again make sure all ribbon cables are straight. The first time I believe you said it stayed on for 5 min and shut off, that suggests it overheated - that could be that the heatsync was not attached properly, or its lifted in a corner not making contact, check that too when you disassemble.
