    Alienware 17 r3 no leds light, No hdd light, no caps light

    All of a sudden NONE of my lights are working. None of the led lights, none of the keys, the 4 lights for hdd, wifi, caps, numlock, all dark. Nothing.. I hope this is something really stupid I am not thinking of but they were working fine until out of no where.. any ideas?

    otherwise the laptop works fine

    furthermore, when I power it on from an off state, they don't turn on either, so I am pretty sure its an actual hardware fault at this point. Is there a cable connection that makes this all work? The laptop works fine other than the lights

    ok its fixed. Here is what I figured out. I had the graphics amp connected to the laptop but forgot to actually plug in the power to it. For some reason this prevented all my led lights from working. As soon as I plugged it in, it prompted me to reboot and now all my lights are back.. Kind of weird that plugging in the data cable but not power to amp would cause this issue. lol
