So I called Dell Finacial today since I used my account to purchase my computer. I found out that the statement will be processed on the 21st of January.
I told the rep that I wouldn't be paying for a computer that I didn't have in my possession and that if I hadn't received news of my order shipping with a tracking number with evidence that it was enroute that I would be canceling my order.
He apologized and everything but it doesn't change my statement. I've seen where some of you have been delayed for up to 3 months or more on waiting for your computers. I will not go through that. That to me is absolutely rediculous and is inexcusable no matter the situation. Especially since some are receiving their orders with little to no trouble at all.
I plan on calling customer care on Monday or Tuesday and letting them know the same thing. I'm also going to push them to elevate the case as high as possible and to add insult to injury I'm going to tell them that if they can't get my computer to me by the 21st or sooner that I will not only cancel my order but I will also close my dell account and will never do business with them ever again. I'll also tell everyone about the bad business I received and how insufficiently they are prepared for conpleting orders.
To me I do not understand how you can run out of parts like they have or claim to have. That to me is just bad business especially during the holidays.
They should be over stocked to a point so that this doesn't happen especially when they are doing sales deals like they are and have been because of the holidays.

The only way I get any updates info is to call them and ask a bunch of questions, which again is just ridiculous. If I didn't call them earlier I'd of never known that my computer was on hold and that it was because they "ran out of i7 processors."Last edited: Dec 23, 2016 -
Another thing I'm going to do is if they can't tell me when they're going to get any of the i7-6700HQ processors in, I'm going to see if they have any i7-6820HK processors. If they do I'm going to suggest they put one of those in instead for compensation. I'll even pay them 50 bucks so they can upgrade my battery to the 99wt.

My order status remains confirmed with a 1/1/17 delivery estimate. I ordered 1080+ 6820hk with the 1440 screen. Those parts don't seem to be an issue.

I wonder if they'd actual upgrade my processor to that one for compensation and to complete my order. -

Same day - 12/5, and my 1/1/17 delivery has been steady since then.

I did not upgrade to 1t, and did keep the 512 SSD, I would have downgraded is possible, as my bootdrive will be a 950PRO. Seeing the issues with this laptop, I will probably keep the original SSD stock for the time being, in case I return it.

I'd urge everyone here to call Dell Monday and ask to speak to the modifications department. That's how I found out about them being out of stock on processors.
The guy made it sound like if they would of had the processor to put into my machine that it would of been done and been shipped out.
I think that's what makes me so mad about the whole thing. -

My order of 12/5 (AW17r4 6820 1080 32 512 1440) is in the "testing" phase according to sales support today. I got one of the credit card phishing things today, so I called Dell to be sure there was not a stop on the CC charge. I received an email yesterday saying my unit was "complete", and arriving 1/1-1/9 via the free shipping. Still on track with the original quote on 12/5. I always knew that the 1/1 estimate was in reality 1/3, as the office will be closed again this coming Monday, and are the delivery companies really going to be out on Sunday, New Years Day?
Looking into a spare 330w power brick, and a pair of those SSD spreaders today. -
Ordered mine 12 days ago (AW17r4 6820 1070 16 256 4K) mid Dec and the status page still indicates the original estimate of Jan 1st, however, if I drill down on the Order number, it says Feb 7th!

So, earlier after my last post i had an est. delivery on the 23rd and according to Dells page it had a "sent" status on the 20th. I called them earlier today and asked them why it hadn't been sent from schenker if it were delivered form Dell the 20th and they told me that it was a delay from Schenkers side and that ETA now is the 30th.
checked recently after the call and now the ETA is 2nd Jan.
Is it Schenker or Dell, no one knows but my conclusion is that it's Dell or it's pure coincidence that it changed status after i called them.
However the follow up on my 10% refund and follow up from the support has been excellent just not updating on delivery. -
Hey guys I also ordered the AW15r3, and today status changed to 'shipped' but it says this above:
"Your items may be shipped separately and delivered on different dates in order to complete your delivery as quickly as possible"
Transportist is " kuehne-nagel"
Anyone having that update on the order status? or my computer will arrive in parts? haha -
I just spoke with Dell and my 15R3 has finally moved to the manufacturing process. Last time I spoke with them they said it was on a parts hold. Should receive it in early January now.

I got this message recently...and it's COMPLETE
It toook 9days for it to get transfered from Dell to the sorting hub at schenker.

Hey guys, just to let you all know that I received my laptop yesterday and it's a beast! Seem to have fixed the thermal issues as week so big thumbs up to Dell and the LHz team for all their hard work. So chuffed with the purchase!

Hey guys just figured I'd give you all an update!
I canceled my order with dell. I then went and bought an Aurora R5 from MicroCenter.
I'm not dealing with dell directly anymore.
Alienware 17 delayed, QA for new parts.
