So a few days ago I just bought my first ever Alienware laptop. I was so excited and then... not so excited.
I found some defects in my unit. At >$2000, I am pretty disappointed. Will Dell let me exchange for a new unit or are they going to have a tech come to my house and do an onsite repair? I do NOT want onsite repairs. If possible, I want an even exchange and wonder how long that would take.

1. will Conductonaut be fine (edit: safe?) for a very mobile laptop? I plan to take this with me on sets for filming and editing and would prefer not to have my laptop destroyed after editing RAW video.
2. I've repasted 4 times with Kryonaut and I'm still getting really crap results. I just peaked at 92c on battlefield 1 and I am really hating the results. ($10 bucks gone). I have done the heatsink trick and still can't get temps down at all. Any tips for a guy going in his 5th time?
3. Will thermal pads help with maintaining good contact with the die? I can't really be spending so much money on repairing something that cost $1700.
4. Could I pay you to fix my laptop, I'm about to give up at this point. I'd prefer to keep the laptop in my own hands but if I need to, you might be my last choice.Last edited: Dec 11, 2016
