I recently had to travel and had my beast with me. I set it to "power saving mode" and had no issue. Meanwhile I got updated to build 1803 and no problem. Now I'm home and ...when enabling "performance mode" with no errors... windows starts black screen!!! WTF !??!?!? As I use an external monitor VG248qe I do have video signal on it, but main display still black. Anyone any clue?
I tried.... reinstall Intel and Nvidia drivers, use performance and power saving mode on single display and multiple displays... On performance mode... no matter with or without external NO SIGNAL on laptop display.
GPU - 1080, display - QHD 120 Hz, motherboard - BAP20 LA-D753P

 UPDATE!!!
After trying a long lots of solution in order to make it work... in vain...I discover something interesting... people...its not block screen!!!
It's minimum brightness...so...in perfect darkness I could see shadows on display... I could change resolution and actually do it, refresh rate...and so on. So ...anyone any ideas?
Why do we have display brightness set at 0 ???

So...I took the issue to Microsoft. They replied... and even tried to resolve it remotely. They couldn't.
In fact the only solution is a clean reinstall of version 1709.
"As discussed earlier we are aware of this issue and a fix would be released in the future update shortly from Microsoft as they are working on it. The next update would surely fix all this bugs as our backend is already working on it and they are aware of this issue."
So ...to summarize ... we wait for the next build.
 Good luck...and DO NOT UPDATE win 10 build 1709 to 1803 !!!!!

I tried to not update, then suddenly one time it just shut off my computer and updated anyway and now I'm experiencing the bugfest fun of another new Windows 10 build. They seriously can't ever get it right yet they always push for these system breaking updates.Vasudev and propeldragon like this.

So...this can be closed, but after a couple of days cause people needs to know of this. In case you want to postponed your "updates" use OSU...or something like it.

pathfindercod Notebook VirtuosoThe last I checked the windows update for the newest version fails to install automatically because M$ blocked these systems for now form installing the update. I suppose you could manually install/clean install...

A few people on Reddit are saying the block has been lifted as there is a fix available.

propeldragon Notebook EvangelistI won't hold my breath..

It auto installed for me yesterday. Was pretty angry because it was taking up performance for what I thought was a failed update, but it went through fine.

propeldragon Notebook EvangelistEverything working ok? I heard a lot of issues with alienate and the new update. I haven't been on my laptop in few days. I would hate for it to auto update on me if it's not working right.

I only use it for League if legends and YouTube so my usage is light but my clocks have been consistently hitting 4ghz just fine and no dips in performance. It did **** up my precision drivers again like every windows update though this time I can’t get it working doing the usual.

Link available? So I can study the issue, maybe come with a solution. Thanks

Link to ? It's people saying they have been able to successfully update now. It does not appear to be a problem anymore.
