1. HDMI Port on the motherborad is of the 2.0 variation
a. The iGPU does not seem to have access to this port
b. The dGPU seems to have exclusive control of this port
Is this the same conclusion with the amplifier connected, does the dGPU still have total control of it, in this case the new dGPU in the amplifier (I would assume also it would have to be an nvidia card?)
Has anyone been able to disprove my assumption that this port is not by any means shared by the iGPU. Such as when connecting a monitor or television solely to this port and shutting down the internal display the iGPU cannot be used, in anyway.
2. HDMI Port connected by USB-C with access to both GPU's
a. If one was to want both GPU's to be used, one would have to use a USB-C to HDMI adapter. Is this correct?
Thanks guys

Have you had any luck with this? My situation is...
I spent a few hours trying to play around and get it to display, it is running 8.1 which I've heard had problems with the hdmi in. I used a brand new hdmi and even checked it with a second hdmi. But i tried uninstalling the driver and updating it. But gives me weird options when trying to assign it, shows the 1/2 assign but won't detect it. Then i manually go through and it shows 2 vga connection options. My Samsung plasma shows that it sees a connection because it has it listed with the live connections but says there is no signal. I would greatly appreciate any help -
With the AGA connected you dont use the iGPU.
However the HDMI port on the AW17R3 goes through the iGPU first. That is also the reason why gsync cannot be used in this way. This is a limitation of the optimus (intel x nvidia) setup.Vasudev likes this. -
It won't project through hdmi or vga
