Tried searching. No luck (perpetual return of "error" in searching function?).

Running a fresh x64 Windows 10 Home install on 6820k and 980m all tucked in nicely to an AW 17 R3. 16GB of memory on a 128GB ssd as well. System is attached via HDMI to a Samsung U28E590D running at 3820x2160. The system is running in clamshell with the integrated screen off.

With a startlingly amount of frequency, I find myself seeing stuttering issues even when on the desktop. Windows "hang" when moved (rapidly as well as slowly). Games from CS:GO to Crysis can be fine for hours, then suddenly come to a drag for a few frames before picking back up.

Gestures back at the desktop have constant issues (fling to side of screen or top of screen for maximize/fit to side panel), and even typing whether in a browser, Office, or notepad appears to get bound up.

Any ideas, or is the system merely possessed? Hoped to sell it until this image reared its head.

Hey mate sounds like throttling to me. Have you installed hwinfo yet and seen if you get any throttling yet? If do that next. Also leave task manager going in the background with all the monitors running to see if you know what's the problem

Looks like I did a botched job with power settings when updating drivers. All good now after ensuring all the embedded settings were moved off of battery saving.
