Hey guys, I've been recommended to this forum by a fellow friend of mine who recently sold his Alienware laptop.

I have recently purchased an Alienware 17 R2 laptop out of a sale hosted by our local reseller JBHIFI,

    My specs are as following:

    i7 4710HQ Processor,

    256 gb SSD+ 1tb 5200rpm HDD

    Nvidia 970m GPU

    16 gb RAM

Everything is smooth and all however, I noticed that there are some funny issues with my keyboard, specifically with some symbol keys such as " ~" and " ^".

If I were to press the "~" key once, it would not appear at all, however, if I were to press it twice, ~~ would appear. I had never had any similar issues with my previous laptops and would like to know if there is any way to fix this?

    Hi,

that's the right way these keys work,
(you do not need a fix)

you have to keyin another following letter,
    that is:
    "tête" head in french
    "sueño" sleep in spanish

or a space if you do wish ~ or ^ alone

I second this ^^ ... It's the same with the " ´ " to do accents in many languages. E.g: Papá.
The key has to be pressed and it will wait for the next key that is pressed. If it's a symbol it will appear right after it.
