Does anyone know how to get shadow play working on the new Alienware laptops. I know the new Asus laptops G751 have a dedicated button for shadow play and the software works on those laptops withe same specs. Why doesn't it work on the Alienware?
From what I've been told Optimus doesn't work with Shadow Play which is a real bummer. There has to be a way to make this work on Alienware laptops.. If ASUS can make it work surely Dell can to. Besides who's bright idea was it to have this *** Optimus in gaming laptops anyways? At Least give us the option to disable it completely in the bios.
Does anyone know how to get this working?

Easiest way in the world!
Download the GeForce Experience from the Nvidia website...which is where you should be getting your video driver updates anyway...
Open the GeForce Experience app, look in the top right corner of the app....there is a ShadowPlay button right there. Hit it, bring up the menu, turn it on, set your parameters, there ya go!

The new asus machines do not have optimus so that's why it works.
Disabling optimus requires hardware and can't be added in with a software update. -

The G750 has optimus so it wont work with shadow play either.

What is the work around for that machine?

It works, here's some proof. Shadowplay works with Optimus now, whereas previously it did not, but it's hard to find a definite answer.
This video was recorded with Shadowplay on the AW 15 970M which has Optimus:
I know that some games don't work with shadowplay, or maybe something is up with your drivers/setup, but it should work!bnosam likes this.
