Do you think the Alienware 17 2015 line will come up with MXM again?

This is the 2015 Alienware line, and I highly doubt they'll change back to MXM.

If there's enough complaining, they may re-introduce next year's 17" model with MXM, but I doubt it.

Besides, having a MXM slot is meaningless if Dell doesn't provide the software support necessary for future upgrades.

Look through the forums, and you'll see owners of past machines with sockets (CPU+GPU) having a tough time upgrading to the 970/980M cards. Between BIOS/VBIOS/Drivers, lots of effort is sometimes required to upgrade, all because Dell doesn't provide updated software to accommodate the newer hardware.

In other words, even if they DID introduce a newer/refreshed model with MXM, I doubt I'd get it, because I know they probably won't actually support future upgrades by simply not providing the updated software that is necessary.

Who knows, but any changes like that are not going to happen soon. Buy what seems good at the time and don't worry about what may happen in the future unless you want to drive yourself round the bend ;)
