    Been stress testing and benchmarking for the last few hours to get the best results that are stable, while maintaining proper temperatures during gaming. Just wanted to post results and settings. Your results may very!

    Nvidia 980m
    16 GB 1600 ram

    Witcher 3, GTA V, and many more running flawless at 60 fps maxed out minus one or two settings (hair effects in witcher and shadow / dof in gta).

    Any recommendations let me know. But pushing the cpu any harder crashes it during real world use.

    Cheers

    Hi Reptile.

    I get this in 3D Mark 11

    P=10810
    GS = 12419
    PS = 7720
    CS = 7885

    I run things a little different to you though. My GPU was left stock so I was only pushing the CPU I run this over clock everyday. I have a more extreme set up as well.

    First of all in intel XTU, on the right hand side enable CPU total TDP, Power limit throttling, current limit throttling and also CPU core voltage. The run your settings again see if you get any throttling.

    I have these settings
    Multipliers all 37,36,35,35
    Current limit 112.00A
    BCLK 100.0MHZ
    Dynamic CPU voltage -60mv
    Turbo boost power max 58w
    turbo boost short power max 58w

    I get no throttling at all XTU score of 756. I do have a 240w PSU as well, Bios is AO2 but I make my fans run at max using HWinfo

    Give that a shot see what happens

    A02 scores poorly with the settings above and crashes during benchmarking with my optimized settings. I recommend running a00 with a 240 w ps and the settings above. Once I scored it back it scored 11171

    Those settings work perfect for me its what I run as my everyday over clock. Also it ensure I get no throttling of any kinda. Thermal current or power.

    I shall have a play see what else I can get out of the system on A02.

    Interesting to compare though. My Physics and combined scores are higher yet your system crashed and scored poorly another example of the silicon lottery at work

    Yeah something else may be at play as it always is. Just adjusted the base clock some more and increased the p score to 11407

    Ran again with your settings in a00 however I tweaked it again - -50 mV reference clock at 101.5267 boost power time window 20 seconds and this was my result

    I shall try the clock speed you used tonight and see what I get :D

    That's a nice score though.

    I can get to just under 3.8 Ghz before it crashes. It's most stable in the latest configuration. Left a stress test running for 8 hours, and temperature never rose above 81 with no thermal throttling.

    Okay I have just run your settings but I left it at -60mv and I got:

    765 @ Temp 72C
    at -50mv I get: 766 @ Temp 70C
    Same settings but cache set to x37 I get 767: @ temp 71C

    Definitely room for improvement still I feel somewhere. The GPU Can handle a lot more than its outputting - but unlocking the max capabilities is not an option using Nvidia inspector right now

    Definitely a random side note. But if I restart the pc I get a higher score in 3dmark11 versus running it after the cpu is warmed up.
