Does the new Alienware 17 (2015) have the same ghosting/trailing issue that the Alienware 15 has? Its really bad. It is the equivalent to a cheap no name brand LCD panel. When things are moving it is quite difficult to see anything on the screen.

I have 0 ghosting on the glossy touch panel - its probably the best laptop monitor I have scene in the 1080p market.

Is the touch panel on the 17 a screen a 1080p? I thought they were 4k as well. I had a 15" system with that in it too. I couldn't stand the grainyness from the touch layer when doing graphic design. Call me picky but I only need touch on a tablet. :p To best honest there was ghosting on that screen too. I wonder if it is the driver or some other hardware.

Its 1080 - not 4k. I am a professional photographer, and have used it for photo editing on the go when I needed to grab something from lightrooms cloud for a client while I was gaming. I found the screen to reproduce fantastically, even without running it through any kind of calibration. Your experience may very though, as the 17 has been a hit or miss across the board

The AW17 doesn't have a 4K display. Only the AW15 has that option.

I did indeed find that out since this post.... I must be honest here.. when I saw you replied to this post I got excited. Once I saw your reply I was very disappointed. Who do I speak with to get some light shed on this situation?
Also L Porras, do you work at an Aliewnare location? CR perhaps?

I do work in CR. To answer all the questions, there's an option for non-touch 1080p and touch 1080p.

Also, the screen doesn't have the same behavior as the one on the Alienware 15.

I'm sorry I did not provide all the details before, I thought you were able to get that from previous answers and I just wanted to confirm that part :p

If you need to know anything else, let me know through here and I'll try to respond as much as I know about the questions you have.

Well on the 15" Im still experiecing ghosting/trails/low response time from the LCD. Movement is 10x more blurry then any Alienware I have ever owned. I have owned countless AW laptops. M17x. M17xr2, M17xr3, M17xr4, M15x, Alienware 14, Alienware 15. If I compare some of these screens with the same games directly next to one and other the ghosting makes the games frustrating to play. :( Sometimes its literally difficult to see. I must compensate by stopping movement to look around, in games where I could see objects with out stopping. Please see the other threads and reply to them etc.

Does Alex J still work there? How can I get in touch with him? Can you please tell him that I have been emailing him? He has helped me in the past greatly and honestly has been the only one that I ever got the impression that they truly cared.

I've already escalated the behavior that you mention from the screen. Unfortunately there's nothing that an LCD replacement would do with that. I could try escalating again, but I can't promise that replacements will come with that either. Alex still works within Alienware, but he's not with the Social Media team. I'll tell him that you've emailed him and check why there hasn't been a response yet.

He might be working on special duties because he's been out of the phones for a while.

    And update on ghosting?
