So Dell is offering a decent deal today of the 15r4 but it comes with the 1920x1080 60Hz IPS Gsync panel and a 1070OC. I was hoping to swap the panel out with the one on my 15r2 - 4k sharp panel. Does anyone know if the 40 pin eDP cable from the 15r3 will work on the 15 r4? Also, will gsync be an issue with a different panel? I know the eDP cable on my 15r2 is to short to work but the 15r3 edp cables are readily available.

I think it has a pretty good shot of working. You will also likely need the UHD back cover because the mounting brackets are different for the sharp 15.6 4k. Maybe also the front bezel too if the fhd one does not fit correctly either. It's a pretty good deal on that config though. That's only $100 more than I paid for my open box 17R4's!

Thanks. Add in the 20% cash back from topcashback for Dell today and the deal is even better.

Indeed this, you need the screenlid as well. Pretty much you can use the full old display assembly and assemble it on the new frame. All the mounting brackets on the chassis for the hinges remained the same.

What is the panel model number for the 15 r2 uhd screen?
